for Calistung: Baca Tulis Hitung
Short version
Calistung is a small kids’ learning app for iPhone and iPad. Use it with (or near) a child to practice Baca, Tulis, and Hitung. The free tier is generous; Calistung Lengkap is a one-time unlock sold through Apple — there is no subscription, no advertising, and no auto-renewal. Apple handles purchases and refunds. We try our best, but the app is provided “as is.”
1. Who you’re agreeing with
These terms (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Akhaneva (“we,” “us,” “our”), the publisher of the Calistung iOS / iPadOS app (“Calistung,” “the app”). By downloading, installing, or using Calistung, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
2. Eligibility
Calistung is rated for ages 3–6 in Apple’s Kids Category, but a binding contract is between you and us as an adult. You must be old enough under the laws of your country to enter a contract — typically 18. By using the app you confirm you are either (a) such an adult, or (b) a parent or legal guardian accepting these Terms on behalf of the child who will use it.
3. Your licence to use Calistung
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Calistung on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use by a child in your care, in line with Apple’s Media Services Terms.
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except as the law allows.
- Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or rent the app, the bundled voice clips, audio model, or any premium content.
- Use the app to harass, harm, or violate the rights of others.
- Try to circumvent the Calistung Lengkap entitlement, the parent gate, app integrity checks, or App Store DRM.
- Strip, modify, or hide attribution for bundled assets (e.g., the Piper VITS voice model card).
4. The child experience and the parent gate
Calistung is designed to be a kid-led app. The interactive Lessons, Rewards Gallery, and tracing screens are intended for a 3–6-year-old.
Settings, purchases, restore, and reset-progress controls are protected by a parent gate — a small math challenge (a + b = ?, a ∈ 5–12, b ∈ 3–9). By using the app you agree that any action taken past the parent gate — including purchasing Calistung Lengkap, restoring purchases, toggling audio, or resetting progress — is authorised by you. You are responsible for keeping the device, your Apple ID, and any parent-gate answer secure from children.
5. Your content (profile + drawings)
Calistung lets you choose an avatar emoji, type a nickname (defaults to “Adik”), and trace letters/numbers/words. The nickname you type, the stars earned, the streak, the unlocked rewards, and the tracing strokes (“Your Content”) belong to you and your child. We do not claim ownership, licence, or any rights to Your Content.
Your Content is stored locally on your device via Apple’s SwiftData framework and UserDefaults and never leaves your device through Calistung. Because we never receive a copy, we cannot recover Your Content if your device is lost, reset, or the app is deleted. Back up what matters to you via the iCloud device backup.
You are responsible for any nickname your child or you enter. Please use a first name or “Adik” — there is no reason to enter a full name, address, phone number, or other personal information, and we explicitly recommend against it.
6. Calistung Lengkap — one-time unlock
Calistung is free to download with a generous forever-free tier (Garis pre-writing, Huruf A–J, Mengenal Huruf cards, Berhitung 1–10, Pola Urutan).
Calistung Lengkap is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the rest of the curriculum (full A–Z + a–z, full Angka, all Kata tracing, all Baca games, all Hitung ranges, all 4 Pola games, Puzzle Jalan, and all 3 recorded voice banks).
- Price (Indonesia): Rp 99.000 standard, with a launch promotional price of Rp 69.000 for a limited period. Local pricing in other territories is set by Apple’s App Store pricing matrix and may differ.
- No subscription. Calistung Lengkap is a one-time purchase. There is no auto-renewal and we will never charge your Apple ID again for this product.
- Family Sharing. Calistung Lengkap is purchased once per Apple ID Family group, subject to Apple’s Family Sharing eligibility.
- Restore Purchases. If you change device or reinstall, tap Settings → Calistung Lengkap → Pulihkan Pembelian to restore — past the parent gate.
- Refunds. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
We may change prices, add tiers, or change what each tier unlocks. Content that was inside the Lengkap unlock at the time you purchased it will remain unlocked for you, free of further charge, on devices linked to your Apple ID — that is our trust anchor for this product. Any future major content packs (e.g. Membaca Lancar, Hijaiyah, Jam & Waktu) may be offered as separate purchases.
The purchase flow is implemented with Apple StoreKit 2. Entitlement validation uses RevenueCat as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Free tier
The free tier of Calistung permanently includes Garis pre-writing, Huruf A–J tracing, Mengenal Huruf cards, Berhitung 1–10, and Pola Urutan. If we ever change what is in the free tier, anything you have already earned (stars, streak, unlocked rewards) will remain in your child’s profile.
8. Updates and changes to the app
Calistung evolves. We may add lessons, change the difficulty curve, retire reward art, add new voices, or remove parts of the app. We try to do this thoughtfully and communicate material changes through App Store release notes or in-app messaging.
9. No ads, no third-party trackers
By using the app you acknowledge that Calistung shows no advertising, no sponsored content, and includes no third-party analytics or attribution SDKs. We have committed to this in writing and intend to keep it that way for the lifetime of the app.
10. Third-party terms
Using Calistung also involves these third parties:
- Apple — through the App Store, In-App Purchase, Family Sharing, and TestFlight. Apple’s Media Services Terms apply in parallel with these Terms.
- RevenueCat — for Calistung Lengkap entitlement validation. Their terms apply to that limited purpose.
Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you to the extent required by the App Store’s developer agreements.
11. Bundled assets and licences
Calistung bundles a permissively-licensed neural Bahasa Indonesia TTS voice (Piper id_ID-news_tts-medium, MIT) and the sherpa-onnx + ONNX Runtime inference stack (Apache 2.0 / MIT). The included MODEL_CARD attribution is preserved verbatim. You may not extract these assets from the IPA and ship them in a separate product.
The pre-recorded voice banks (Kak Jesika, Kak Anjani, Kak Dila) are produced for Akhaneva and may not be extracted, redistributed, or used outside the Calistung app.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
Calistung is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, educational outcome, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of bugs. Calistung is a practice tool, not a substitute for a teacher, parent, or formal preschool curriculum. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Akhaneva will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the app — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Akhaneva from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by a third party arising out of your misuse of the app, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.
15. Termination
You can stop using Calistung at any time by deleting the app from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you materially breach these Terms or use the app in a way that puts other users or us at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. If the change is material, we will provide additional notice (for example, in-app or by App Store release notes). Continuing to use the app after the change means you accept the new Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Indonesia, unless a mandatory local consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring the case in your local courts.
