for CortiMax
Short version
CortiMax is a personal stress-pattern app for iPhone. You take a daily selfie, the app reads a personal “Cortisol Index” from your face and (optionally) your Apple Health signals, and guides a short reset. CortiMax Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple — Apple handles billing, renewals, and refunds. CortiMax is for wellness and entertainment, is not a medical device, and is provided “as is.”
1. Who you’re agreeing with
These terms (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Akhaneva (“we,” “us,” “our”), the publisher of the CortiMax iOS app (“CortiMax,” “the app”). By downloading, installing, or using CortiMax, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be 17 or older and old enough under the laws of your country to enter a binding contract (typically 18). CortiMax is intended for adults and is not designed for children. By using the app you confirm you meet these requirements.
3. Your licence to use CortiMax
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use CortiMax on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with Apple’s Media Services Terms.
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except as the law allows.
- Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or rent the app or any of its content.
- Use the app to harass, harm, or violate the rights of others.
- Try to circumvent the CortiMax Pro entitlement, app integrity checks, or App Store DRM.
4. What CortiMax is — and is not (important)
CortiMax estimates a personal Cortisol Index: a score relative to your own 7-day baseline (a z-score), used to help you notice day-to-day changes in facial stress signals and to motivate small lifestyle rituals.
The Cortisol Index is not a measurement of the cortisol level in your body, not a clinical or laboratory result, and not a diagnosis. CortiMax is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is a wellness and entertainment tool. Any coaching tips, “HRV Confirms” cues, or reset guidance are general lifestyle suggestions only. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any health decision, and never disregard professional medical advice because of something CortiMax showed you. If you may be experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, contact your local emergency services.
5. Your content (selfies, scans, and profile)
CortiMax processes your selfies on the device to extract face signals, and stores your scans, baseline, Cortisol Index, onboarding answers, and ritual progress (“Your Content”) locally on your device. We do not claim ownership of, or any rights to, Your Content.
Your Content is stored locally on your device and never leaves it through CortiMax (see the Privacy Policy). Because we never receive a copy, we cannot recover Your Content if your device is lost, reset, or the app is deleted. Back up what matters to you via your iCloud device backup.
You are responsible for the device and Apple ID you use, and for keeping them secure.
6. CortiMax Pro — auto-renewing subscription
CortiMax offers CortiMax Pro, an auto-renewing subscription with weekly and annual options that unlocks the full experience. Pricing is shown in the app before you purchase and is set per territory by Apple’s App Store pricing matrix.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, or via the App Store. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current paid period continues until it ends.
- Restore. If you change device or reinstall, use Restore Purchases in the app to restore an active subscription tied to your Apple ID.
- Family Sharing. Where Apple permits, CortiMax Pro may be shared via your Apple ID Family group.
- Refunds. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
The purchase flow uses Apple StoreKit; entitlement validation uses RevenueCat as described in our Privacy Policy. We may change prices, plans, or what each plan unlocks; changes never affect the period you have already paid for.
7. Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, CortiMax reads your HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep to cross-check your score, and never writes anything back to Health. Connecting is optional and the app works without it. You may revoke access any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → CortiMax. You are responsible for ensuring you are permitted to share whatever Health data you connect.
8. AI coaching
When your device supports Apple Intelligence, CortiMax may generate a short, on-device, non-medical wellness suggestion. These suggestions are general lifestyle prompts, may be imperfect, and are not medical advice. You use them at your own discretion, subject to section 4.
9. No ads, no third-party trackers
By using the app you acknowledge that CortiMax shows no advertising, includes no third-party analytics or attribution SDKs, and does not sell your data. We intend to keep it that way.
10. Third-party terms
Using CortiMax also involves these third parties:
- Apple — through the App Store, In-App Purchase, StoreKit, HealthKit, and Family Sharing. Apple’s Media Services Terms apply in parallel with these Terms.
- RevenueCat — for CortiMax Pro entitlement validation. Their terms apply to that limited purpose.
Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you to the extent required by the App Store’s developer agreements.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
CortiMax is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the Cortisol Index, signals, or coaching are accurate, reliable, or suitable for any purpose. Face-based estimation is inherently approximate. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Akhaneva will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, or any health, medical, or personal decision made in reliance on the app — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Akhaneva from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by a third party arising out of your misuse of the app, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.
14. Termination
You can stop using CortiMax at any time by deleting the app from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the app in a way that puts other users or us at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. If the change is material, we will provide additional notice (in-app or via App Store release notes). Continuing to use the app after the change means you accept the new Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Indonesia, unless a mandatory local consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring the case in your local courts.
