Privacy Policy · About Mother Companion

Short version

Mother Companion is a pregnancy companion for iPhone that offers general education, safety checks, trackers and gentle support. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice, so always check with your doctor or midwife. Some content is written by AI on your device and can be wrong. Mother Companion Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple, which handles billing, renewals and refunds, and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. The app is provided “as is.”

1. Who you’re agreeing with

These terms (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Akhaneva, the brand of Muhammad Hanif Sugiyanto, an individual developer (“we,” “us,” “our”), publisher of the Mother Companion iOS app (“Mother Companion,” “the app”). By downloading, installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. These Terms take effect on 6 October 2026.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract under the laws of your country. The app is intended for adults who are pregnant or supporting someone who is, and is not designed for children. The app is built for iPhone.

3. Your licence to use Mother Companion

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with Apple’s Media Services Terms. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple’s standard EULA”) applies alongside these Terms. If the two conflict, Apple’s standard EULA controls for matters it covers.

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code, except as the law allows.
  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense or rent the app or its content.
  • Use the app to harass, harm or violate the rights of others.
  • Try to circumvent the Mother Companion Plus entitlement, app integrity checks or App Store DRM.

4. Not medical advice (important)

Mother Companion offers general pregnancy education and gentle support: weekly information, food and beauty safety checks, symptom guides, exercise guidance, a kick counter, a contraction timer, a weight tracker, mood check-ins and calming tools. It is for information and education only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. It does not replace your doctor, midwife or other qualified care provider.

  • See a professional. Always ask your doctor, midwife or pharmacist about your own situation, including before you eat, use or take anything, change your exercise, or act on anything the app shows.
  • Safety statuses, guides, counts, timers and Snap results are general aids based on published guidance. They can be incomplete, out of date, misread or wrong for your situation, and country-specific rules can change. Your provider may recommend different targets or actions than the app shows. A label or menu the app cannot read, or an ingredient it does not list, is not a sign that something is safe.
  • Call your care provider or emergency services right away if you notice warning signs such as bleeding, severe belly or shoulder-tip pain, fever, being unable to keep fluids down, painful urination, severe headache or vision changes, leaking fluid, your baby moving less than usual, or thoughts of harming yourself or your baby. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Do not wait for the app, do not rely on it to decide whether something is an emergency, and never delay or ignore professional advice because of something the app showed you.
  • The emergency and support numbers in the app are a convenience, are provided for a few countries only, and are not complete for every country. Check that you have the right number for where you are.
  • The kick counter and contraction timer are logging tools. If you are worried, contact your provider, whatever the app shows.
  • Weight and activity ranges in the app are general guides. Your provider may set different goals for you.

5. AI features and AI-generated content

Ask, the daily brief, Snap summaries, the weekly reflection and partner messages are written by artificial intelligence: Apple’s Foundation Models framework, running on your device. They are marked with an Apple Intelligence badge. We do not use a cloud AI service.

  • AI answers are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable for you. They are not medical advice and are not reviewed by a doctor or midwife.
  • The app grounds its answers in its built-in guides and checks AI text against them before showing it. That check reduces mistakes but is not a guarantee. The safety notice shown for urgent-sounding questions is also not a guarantee.
  • Do not rely on AI output for medical decisions. Treat it as a starting point for questions to ask your provider.
  • AI features need a compatible device with Apple Intelligence turned on, and may not be available in every country or language.

6. Apple Health

Connecting Apple Health is optional. If you connect it, the app reads workouts, steps and weight, and writes weight back only if you turn that on. Your Health data stays on your iPhone and is never used for advertising or sold. See the Privacy Policy. Data imported from Health may be wrong or missing, and you remain responsible for checking it.

7. Your content

The information you enter, such as your due date, mood, symptoms, exercise, weight, visits and notes (“Your Content”), is stored locally on your device (see the Privacy Policy). We do not claim ownership of Your Content. Because we never receive a copy, we cannot recover it if your device is lost or reset or the app is deleted, except through your own device backup. You are responsible for your device and Apple Account and for keeping them secure. If you share text from the app (for example a symptom log or visit summary), you decide who receives it.

8. Mother Companion Plus: auto-renewing subscription

Mother Companion Plus is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited Ask and Snap AI summaries, the daily brief, the weekly mood reflection, partner messages, weekly keepsake images and the weight tracker. Without Plus you get 3 free AI answers a day (shared across Ask, Snap summaries and Siri). Safety features (food and beauty checks, symptom guides and warning signs, the kick counter and the contraction timer) stay free.

Plans and prices. There are two plans in one subscription group:

  • Weekly: US$6.99 per week, renewing every week.
  • Annual: US$49.99 per year, renewing every year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers who are eligible. The free trial is offered on the annual plan only.

In Indonesia, the prices are Rp 29.000 per week and Rp 199.000 per year. In other countries, the price is Apple’s equivalent in your local currency, including any applicable taxes. The price, length of each period and any free trial that apply to you are shown in the app on the purchase screen before you buy, and the price shown there when you confirm is the price you pay.

  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Free trial. If you start the free trial, you are not charged during the trial. The trial converts to a paid annual subscription at the price shown when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancelling during the trial ends your access to Plus when the trial ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription, where Apple applies this rule. Apple lets each Apple Account use a free trial for a subscription group once.
  • Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel any time in Settings > your name > Subscriptions on your iPhone (also reachable from Manage subscription in Settings in the app). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the current paid period ends.
  • Restore. Use Restore purchases in the app to restore an active subscription tied to your Apple Account.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Changes. We may change prices, plans or what each plan includes. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for. Where the law or Apple requires it, Apple will tell you about a price increase and ask for your consent before you are charged the new price.

The purchase flow uses Apple’s StoreKit, and we use RevenueCat to check your entitlement, as described in the Privacy Policy. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are linked on the purchase screen. Apple’s standard EULA, linked in section 3, also applies to your subscription.

9. Siri, Shortcuts and notifications

Siri and Shortcuts actions, Spotlight indexing and local reminders are optional conveniences provided through Apple’s systems. Siri may speak or display personal details, such as your next visit, so use them where you are comfortable. Reminders depend on iOS notification settings and may be delayed or not delivered. Do not rely on a reminder for anything time-critical.

10. Third-party terms and Apple

  • Apple: through the App Store, In-App Purchase, HealthKit, Apple Intelligence, Siri and Image Playground. Apple’s terms apply in parallel with these Terms.
  • RevenueCat: for Plus entitlement checks. Their terms apply to that limited purpose.
  • Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any), and Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing your claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal requirements, and consumer protection claims, and for any third-party intellectual property claim. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo or on a US list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you once you accept them. See Apple’s standard EULA for the full text.
  • Support. Contact us at the address in section 17.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its content, safety checks, AI answers, counters or reminders are accurate, complete or suitable for you. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of this may not apply to you. If you are a consumer, you may have legal rights, such as under Australian Consumer Law or UK or EU consumer law, that cannot be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Akhaneva is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or use, or any health, medical or personal decision or outcome arising from your use of or reliance on the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so some of this may not apply to you.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Akhaneva from any third-party claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the app, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person, to the extent the law allows.

14. Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the app in a way that puts others or us at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will change the “last updated” date on this page. For material changes we will give additional notice, such as in the App Store release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Indonesia, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring the case in your local courts.
